In 1929 at the Salon d-Autumne in Paris, Le Corbusier and his team of designers presented a revolutionary collection of furniture that stunned the city. Among the pieces was the ethereal yet bold LC6 Table (1928), a mathematically refined structure of steel and glass that has become one of the most important International Style tables of the 20th-century. Made of aeronautical steel, the base is welded for a seamless finish with sculpted angles and smooth, mitered corners. The table base is height adjustable for a total table height ranging from 27" to 29". The tabletop is a .6" thick rectangle of Italian glass, making the LC6 equally right as a dining table and in the conference room. Together the elements create a sense of line, scale and proportion unsurpassed by other designs. Each piece is signed and numbered and, as a product of Cassina's Masters Collection, is manufactured by Cassina in Italy under exclusive worldwide license from the Le Corbusier Foundation.

Ox chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner (1914). Like other pieces of furniture which are now regarded as modern classics Ox chair was ahead of its time when it was launched in 1960. Making use of superior craftsmanship skills Wegner had created a sophisticated and demanding construction.

In 1989 Erik Jorgensen and Hans J. Wegner collaborated in bringing Ox chair back to life. Today Ox chair stands as a sculptural, agile and masculine manifestation of the very best which Danish furniture has to offer. An organic upholstered furniture that presents itself to the beholder as if formed from one single block. The molded polyurethane foam can be upholstered in leather or fabric having a wide variety options of colors. The covers are fixed with piping at arm and back rest. The legs are chromed steel.

Frank Lloyd Wright Barrel Chair

The designer behind the Barrel Chair, Frank Lloyd Wright, believed that "Every chair must be designed for the building it will be in." The Barrel Chair was originally designed for Herbert Fisk Johnson, Jr. - a part of the famous SC Johnson company. Wright designed Johnson's house in 1937, which is famously known as Wingspread. The Barrel Chair incorporated the features of the house such that the main material used was wood with a leather upholstered seat. Wright viewed the design of the Barrel Chair as an architectural challenge, and wanted to create something that could be manufactured easily by machines. He saw the chair as a 'screen' when placed around a table, which accounts for the grate-like back.

In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed the Swan chair for the lobby and lounge areas of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. An elegant and organic shape ideal for lounge and waiting areas as well as the home.

Arne Jacobsen was very productive both as an architect and as a designer. His cooperation with Fritz Hansen dates back to 1934. The Ant and Series 7 chairs, produced in 1952, propelled both Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen's names into furniture history. At the end of the 1950's Arne Jacobsen designed the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, which introduced the Egg, the Swan, the Swan sofa and Series 3300 to the design world. Arne Jacobsen was and is an admired and outstanding designer. His furniture and other design work have become a national and international heritage.

The shell of the swan is a molded synthetic material covered by a layer of cold foam. The base consists of a satin-polished, welded steel tube and a 4-star base in injection molded aluminium. The Swan chair may be upholstered in a wide range of fabric or leather and is also available with an automatic return mechanism.

The Bibendum chair was designed by Eileen Gray in the early 1900s but was largely forgotten until an original surfaced in a 1972 auction prompting a new production of this design classic.

It is an opulent interpretation of the modernist aesthetic and firmly holds its own in the archives of great furniture design alongside the work of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier who shunned Gray's artistic endeavours when alive.

The name Bibendum was penned by Gray herself who noted that the chair had more than a little in common with the character that Michelin used to advertise their tyres.

This item is beautifully manufactured and only gets better with age, we know as one of the founding members of Iconic Interiors has a matching pair in their home office.
